I am the owner of Trice Counseling, which was established in 2019. I received a Master of Education in Community Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2007. I practiced pastoral counseling until 2016 when I became a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, and I received my full License as a Professional Counselor in 2018, License Number 74955. I am a certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator to administer couple assessments, a Financial Peace University Coordinator, and trained in PREP (an empirically based system designed to enhance effective communication).
I was employed as a full-time minister for 22 years, initially working with college students, young adults, single parents, and divorce recovery. With my counseling degree in 2007, I began pastoral counseling and family ministry working with couples, parents, men and women. My background includes service as a combat medic in the U.S. Army, business management, and support group work with alcohol and substance abuse recovery, divorce recovery, grief recovery, men’s groups, marriage enrichment, parent training, and leadership training.
I believe the counseling relationship is a cooperative effort that begins by building a trusting relationship between counselor and client. Through this relationship, the counselor and client can collaborate to help identify and achieve goals that help resolve concerns. Counseling is an opportunity to work on specific issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and adjustment to life stressors. Through a variety of modern techniques and interventions, I help clients get a clear look at their situations and apply healthy choices that provide better opportunities for hope and healing.
